I am a professional dancer who has been dancing now for 14 years having trained with some of the UK and Egypt's top dancers, in-particular Kharis who has been a great influence with her lovely relaxed Egyptian style. Other influences include Aida Noor, Raqia Hassan, Zsa Zsa, Leila Jouvani, Shafeek and Candi to name few! I think a good dancer always believes she has something to learn, and who better to learn with than the best.
I also teach and have achieved my PGCE for Further Education- a professional teaching certificate through MMU. I also have QTLS status. I believe it is important to understand the psychology behind effective teaching and I want to be able to teach to the best of my abilities so felt I owed this to my students. I also undertake workshops such as the annual 'Day of Dance' at the Lowry Theatre in Manchester.
My style is friendly, elegant and relaxed with the emphasis on audience participation where appropriate. I have performed at Weddings, Corporate events as well as parties and Hafla's and will tailor a performance to suit the occasions requirements. I have also done work with the Brownies (for their dance badge) and Schools. I teach both group classes, workshops and on an individual basis. Contact me for more details.
